He demanded part of the money raised for the army
Officers of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police detained Head of a non-governmental organisation, which demanded $31 000 bribe for allegedly «assisting» in the supply of drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the man tried to receive part of the money from the UAH 2.4 million, which the local community donated to the needs of the military.
In fact, drones were not planned
As it turned out, no delivery of drones was planned at all. The head of the NGO created a scheme to seize money under the guise of organising the purchase of equipment for the army.
The police detained him when receiving a bribe in the amount of $31,000.
Can go to jail for 8 years
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under article «Fraud committed on an especially large scale».
The attacker is threatened with up to 8 years' imprisonment with confiscation of property.
