
Zelenskyy: meetings on air defence systems next week; we are working on Gripen, French aircraft and F-16
In the evening address Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that negotiations with partners on air defence systems will take place next week.
«We have presented our partners with all the calculations and all possible options,» the head of state said.
What projects are on the agenda
According to Zelensky, there are several areas of work:
decision on Gripen and French aircraft;
work on F-16;
supply air defence systems and missiles for them;
development mobile fire teams;
priority is interceptor drones to protect the airspace.
«There are solutions for Gripen and French aircraft, and we are working on F-16s. We also have air defence systems and missiles for them, the development of mobile fire groups and, of course, the priority now is interceptor drones,“ the president added.
Context.
Ukraine has intensified negotiations with partners to strengthen its air defence against the backdrop of intensified enemy attacks. The high-priority procurement of aircraft platforms and air defence systems is intended not only to strengthen defence capabilities but also to provide greater tactical flexibility in response to missile and drone threats.
What's next
The partners are expected to discuss financing, delivery times, pilot training and integration of the systems into Ukraine's overall defence architecture.
