President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the situation with the energy system remains tense, and it is difficult to predict how events will develop this winter.
What the president said
«Today it is difficult for me to say what will happen with electricity.
We will be ready for all relevant challenges.
We are working on this every day.
Well, we will defend, we will fight» Zelensky said.
The President stressed that the authorities are preparing for the winter period, when Russia may resume massive attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
Context.
Ukraine is actively strengthening its air defence system and carrying out repairs to key energy grid facilities.
At the same time, the government is urging citizens to be prepared for possible power outages in the event of new massive strikes on energy facilities.
What's next
Power engineers are already creating equipment reserves and mobile substations. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal previously said that Ukraine would receive assistance from partners, including transformers, generators and power modules.
