Zelenskyy says he sees no connection between Tymoshenko's trial and elections
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he saw no connection between the trial of Yulia Tymoshenko and the electoral process in Ukraine. The President said this when commenting on the MP's attempts to link the investigation NABU with political motives.
According to the President, the case has nothing to do with the elections and is not an element of political persecution.

The president also responded to Tymoshenko's statements in which she drew parallels between the current investigation and her arrest during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych. Zelenskyy stressed that these situations are not comparable.
Separately, the head of state humorously commented on the information about the funds found in Tymoshenko's possession, which, according to the investigation, were kept in a Nova Poshta package.
Context.
Zelenskyy stressed that the NABU investigation has no political basis, and that attempts to present it as pressure on the opposition are part of a broader information campaign.
According to him, such statements fit into the general trend of pressure on the mono-majority in the Verkhovna Rada and attempts to discredit anti-corruption institutions.
The President stressed that all those involved in the cases should be equal before the law, regardless of political status or past merits.
