President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will arrive in London on Monday to hold a series of high-level meetings with the UK Prime Minister By Kier Starmer, President of France Emmanuel Macron and the German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz. This is reported by the The Independent.

These talks are expected to be one of the key stages in the formation of a common Western position on the next steps in the peace process.

Meetings focused on peace talks and security guarantees

According to the publication's sources, the main focus will be on:

• assessing the current state of negotiations between Ukraine, the US and Russia;

• coordinating the positions of European partners on possible elements of a future peace plan;

• long-term security guarantees for Ukraine;

• defence support, including air defence and missile programmes.

It is also about preparing for the next round of broad consultations between the allies, which should clarify common red lines and the format of further agreements.

Meeting at a critical point in the negotiation process

According to The Independent, European leaders are seeking to coordinate efforts and reduce the risks of misunderstandings between the US and the EU amid ongoing contacts between Washington and Moscow.
