The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the programme «1000 hours of content» with a budget of UAH 4 billion. The goal is to create a high-quality Ukrainian cultural product that will become an alternative to Russian content. Applications will be accepted from 3 April.
What does the programme include
The government's 1000 Hours of Content programme is aimed at supporting the production of contemporary Ukrainian cultural products. The project provides funding totalling UAH 4 billion.
The programme is planned to create:
- feature films and documentaries
- series
- animation
- children's films
- contemporary music
- performing and visual arts
- audiovisual shows
- videos for social media
The procedure for participation
Artists, creators, studios and production companies can apply for state support. Applications will be accepted from 3 April and will last until June 2026.
Projects will be selected through open competitions with expert evaluation and public pitching. All stages will be transparent to the public.
Context.
The aim of the programme is to create a competitive Ukrainian cultural product. The government expects this to help shape its own information environment and reduce the influence of Russian content.
