Hungarian politician Peter Magyar said that he does not support the provision of military assistance to Ukraine and its rapid accession to the EU. At the same time, he is in favour of maintaining constructive relations with Brussels. The politician plans to put key decisions on Ukraine to a referendum.

The referendum initiative could actually block support for Ukraine. The reason for this is that a significant part of Hungarian society is critical of any assistance to Kyiv.
If such a scenario materialises, the decision-making process regarding Ukraine could be significantly slowed down or stopped altogether.
Relations with the EU and the financial issue
Despite his tough stance on Ukraine, Magyar declares his intention to maintain good relations with the European Union. In particular, it is about the possible unblocking of funding with a volume of about €90 billion.
This demonstrates the politician's desire to balance domestic politics with the country's economic interests.
