Svyrydenko: power engineers who restore electricity after shelling will receive UAH 200,000 bonus

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko announced that 50 employees of the energy sector involved in the restoration of electricity supply after Russian shelling will receive state bonuses in the amount of 200 thousand hryvnias each.

State support for the energy sector

According to the Head of Government, the awards will recognise specialists who work in difficult and dangerous conditions, promptly restoring power supply to the affected regions. This refers to employees involved in the response to the attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

The government emphasises that the continuous operation of the energy sector is critical for the stability of the state, the functioning of the economy and the livelihoods of communities during the war.

Restoring infrastructure during the war

Russian attacks on the energy system remain one of the key challenges for Ukraine. After each attack, repair crews work in an intensified mode to restore power to homes, hospitals, businesses and critical infrastructure as soon as possible.

The government, in turn, is expanding its support programmes for the energy sector, including funding for repairs, protection of facilities and social guarantees for industry workers.

Context.

Ukraine's energy system is regularly attacked by Russia, which leads to damage to substations, networks and generating facilities. Despite this, the power sector continues to quickly restore electricity supply, ensuring the country's resilience in a full-scale war.
