Ukraine imposes new package of sanctions against self-proclaimed president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the Head of State, Kyiv is stepping up its opposition to all forms of Belarus' assistance to Russia's war against Ukraine and will work with international partners to ensure that sanctions decisions have a global effect.

Belarus' role in the war

Zelenskyy noted that in the second half of 2025, Russia deployed a system of repeaters in Belarus to control attack drones. According to him, significantly increased the possibility of attacks in the northern regions of Ukraine - from the Kyiv region to Volyn.

The President also said that more than three thousand Belarusian enterprises are involved in supplying the Russian military-industrial complex. In particular, they supply machinery, equipment and critical components, including for missile production.

A potential threat to Europe

Zelenskyy also drew attention to the development of infrastructure for the possible deployment of medium-range missiles in Belarus. According to his estimates, such activity is a threat not only to Ukraine but to the whole of Europe.

Context.

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Belarus has been providing Moscow with military, logistical and infrastructure support. In response, Ukraine and its Western partners are gradually expanding sanctions pressure on the Belarusian leadership, defence sector, and enterprises linked to the Russian military-industrial complex.
