According to Trump, the United States should not bear the brunt of ensuring security in a strategically important region through which key energy flows pass. He emphasised that European allies should join the coalition patrolling the Strait of Hormuz, otherwise Washington would reconsider its military assistance to Kyiv.

This week, the UK will host meeting representatives of 35 countries to discuss the security of the Strait of Hormuz. However, according to sources, the United States will not participate in these talks.
