According to the SZRU, Russia can move from information manipulation to armed provocation under a false flag. The estimated time of the scenario implementation is on the eve of or during Christmas according to the Julian calendar.

According to the intelligence, a potential target could be a religious building or other symbolic object - both in Russia and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

The mechanism of falsification

In order to create false «evidence» of Ukraine's or the West's involvement, Russian intelligence services can use Wreckage of Western-made drones. This approach is aimed at providing information cover for the provocation and shaping the international narrative that the Kremlin needs.

The SZRU emphasises that such actions are in line with Russia's previous practices, when violent or terrorist incidents were used as a tool for political pressure and disruption of diplomatic processes.
