On 28 March, the Iranian news agency Fars reported an alleged strike on a Ukrainian drone depot in Dubai and the deaths of 21 Ukrainians. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that this information was false.

Iran spreads fake news about strike in Dubai

On 28 March, the Fars news agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported an alleged Iranian strike on a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle depot in Dubai. According to the report, at the time of the attack, 21 Ukrainian specialists were there and “probably died”. The source of the information was the Israeli portal Ynet, citing Fars.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry denied the statement

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Georgy Tikhiy officially denied the information about the strike and the deaths of Ukrainians. According to him, this is another disinformation operation by the Iranian regime. Tychy stressed that Iran often spreads fakes, similar to Russian propaganda.

Earlier, the head of the National Security Commission of the Iranian Parliament Ibrahim Azizi claimed that Ukraine had become a “legitimate target” for Iran because of its drone support. Ukrainian diplomats have repeatedly documented Iranian attempts to spread disinformation about Ukrainians' participation in military operations in the Middle East.
