Maternity hospital damaged in Odesa due to Russian attack

At night, a Russian attack damaged the roof of a maternity hospital in Odesa. 81 people were evacuated, rescuers and psychologists were working. One person was killed, 11 were injured, including a child.

Damage as a result of the attack

On the night of 28 March, Russian troops attacked Odesa. The attack damaged the roof of a maternity hospital and evacuated 81 people.

Destruction was reported in apartment blocks and private houses, as well as on the territory of the telecentre. Critical infrastructure facilities and cars were damaged.

Victims and the work of rescuers

Preliminary, one person was killed in the attack. Another 11 people, including one child, were injured.

Rescuers from the State Emergency Service, the Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Ukraine and the rescue and diving service were on site. Psychological assistance was provided by specialists from the State Emergency Service and the National Police.

The fires that arose after the shelling were promptly extinguished, despite repeated air raid alarms.

Context.

Odesa region has been one of the targets of Russian attacks since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Damage to civilian infrastructure and residential buildings is recorded regularly.

The authorities urge residents not to ignore the alarms and to follow safety rules.
