Trump says he asked Putin not to shell Ukrainian cities because of frost - and he allegedly agreed

President of the United States Donald Trump said he had personally appealed to the Russian president Vladimir Putin with a request to refrain from shelling Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities for a week due to severe frosts - and, according to him, he received an agreement.

According to Trump, the reason for the appeal was the extremely low temperatures in Ukraine. He stressed that the weather conditions were «extremely cold» and the frosts were record-breaking.
«It is unusually cold there now, the temperature is breaking all records. The weather is just terrible,» he said, commenting on his initiative.
There are no official statements from Russia yet
As of the time of publication, the Russian side has not made any official statements about such an agreement. There is also no independent confirmation of such a conversation or an agreed “one-week moratorium” on strikes.
Ukrainian officials have not reported any changes in the threat level.
