Minister of Defence of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov thanked Ilona Mask for the steps taken to stop Russia's unauthorised use of Starlink. According to him, the first steps have already yielded tangible results.

As reported by Mikhail Fedorov, founder of SpaceX and Starlink Elon Musk confirmed the effectiveness of the measures taken against the illegal use of satellite communications.

«The steps we have taken to stop Russia's unauthorised use of Starlink have yielded results. Please let us know if further action is needed,» Musk wrote.

Ukraine's response

Fedorov confirmed that the first restrictions are already in place and demonstrate real results in practice. According to him, these actions are aimed at protecting the Ukrainian military, civilians and critical infrastructure.

In response to Musk's message, the Minister thanked him for his support of Ukraine, stressing that such steps are important in times of war.

Context.

Starlink has played a key role in ensuring communications in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. At the same time, Russia's attempts to use the system for military purposes have repeatedly sparked discussions about the need for technical restrictions.

SpaceX's latest moves indicate strengthening control over the use of the service and the company's willingness to cooperate with the Ukrainian side to prevent abuse.
