Prime Minister of Italy George Maloney announced positive developments in the work on security guarantees for Ukraine, but stressed that the key issue of territorial settlement remains far from being resolved.

«Because when international law is ignored, a situation is created that can only become more chaotic, and such a world is not in our interests,» Maloney said.

The Italian prime minister stressed that the goal of international efforts should not just be to stop the fighting, but to achieve a just peace.

According to her, ignoring international law sets a dangerous precedent for global security and could lead to further destabilisation.
