Netanyahu says US deal with Iran must include dismantling of nuclear infrastructure

Prime Minister of Israel Binyamin Netanyahu stated that any potential agreement between the United States and Iran on the nuclear programme should include complete dismantling of Iran's nuclear infrastructure, The company's goal is to develop a new generation of nuclear power plants, not just to stop the uranium enrichment process.

At the annual conference of American Jewish organisations, Netanyahu expressed scepticism about the possible outcome of the negotiations, stressing that if a deal is reached, it must guarantee that enrichment materials and equipment will be removed from Iran.

The context of the US-Iranian talks

The resumed talks between Washington and Tehran are aimed at ending the long-running conflict over Iran's nuclear programme. Iran, for its part, is seeking an agreement that would bring economic benefits, while the United States insists on strict restrictions.

The second round of talks is due to take place in the coming days and is being closely watched by key international partners. Additional military forces are also deployed in Washington in case diplomacy fails.

Israel's position

Netanyahu said that Israel should complete the demolition of all tunnels in the Gaza Strip and promised Israel's gradual withdrawal from US military aid over the next decade, transforming the relationship into a strategic partnership.

Experts note that Israel's position on dismantling nuclear infrastructure far exceeds the standards usually agreed upon in international agreements of this type and may affect the positions of negotiators in Geneva and other cities.
