Witkoff's meeting with Putin lasted four hours: Russia says it had «constructive talks»

Meeting of the US President's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin completed and ongoing about four hours. This was stated by an aide to the Russian president Yuriy Ushakov, calling the talks «constructive and frank».

According to Ushakov, during the talks, the parties discussed a number of issues related to the war against Ukraine and the US's international contacts. In particular, the Kremlin said:

  • Vitkoff and Jared Kushner shared with the Russian side their impressions of the Davos talks, in particular Donald Trump's meetings with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

At the same time, Ushakov stressed that Russia intends to continue to achieve its goals by military means, The situation is likely to get worse if a political and diplomatic settlement is not reached.
