Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would not compromise on Donbas and the ZNPP
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the state would not agree to compromises that would violate its territorial integrity and would not give up Donbas and Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant without opposition.
No compromises are allowed
According to the Head of State, Ukraine is not considering any arrangements that involve ceding territory. He stressed that sovereignty and territorial integrity remain the basic principles of the negotiating position.
The President emphasised that the issues of control over Donbas and strategic facilities cannot be resolved behind the scenes or by technical groups.
Negotiation track
Zelenskyy noted that no compromise solution has been found on Donbas. According to him, territorial issues should be discussed exclusively at the level of heads of state within the framework of political negotiations.
He added that security and territorial points are the most difficult in any dialogue format.
Sensitivity of the WPP topic
Zaporizhzhya NPP remains one of the key security facilities in the region and regularly appears in international consultations and statements by Ukraine's partners. The issue of controlling the plant is related not only to the territorial but also to the nuclear and energy factors.
Experts note that the harsh public statements of the parties indicate that fundamental differences in the negotiations over the territories remain.
