Territories will be discussed in Geneva: Peskov announces broader talks
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that during the upcoming talks in Geneva, the parties will discuss a wider range of issues, than at previous meetings in Abu Dhabi.
According to him, the topics may include territorial issues, related to the war against Ukraine.
What is the difference between the Geneva format
The previous consultations in Abu Dhabi were mainly concerned with humanitarian and technical aspects, while the new round of talks, according to the Russian side, could have more political in nature.
The official position of Ukraine and its Western partners on the agenda of the meetings in Geneva has not yet been made public.
The context of the negotiation process
International contacts on a possible settlement of the war continue on various platforms.
Experts emphasise that the issue of territories remains one of the most challenging in any potential arrangements, as Ukraine has repeatedly stated that it will not concede sovereignty.
