Ukraine's Defence Minister demonstrated modern means of defence against drones and missiles to the Lithuanian delegation. Ukraine is combining autonomous AI turrets and interceptor drones, which have already shot down more than 10,000 enemy UAVs in February.
Demonstration of new air defence system for Lithuanian partners
Ukraine's Defence Minister showed the Lithuanian representatives the operation of a multi-level «small» air defence system. The Ukrainian side presented not only interceptor drones, but also autonomous anti-aircraft turrets with artificial intelligence.
The system combines different types of equipment to effectively intercept air targets. Partners were shown how these technologies help to defeat missiles and attack drones.
Effectiveness of interceptor drones and AI turrets
Interceptor drones have become a key element of echelon air defence. In February, these drones shot down more than 10,000 enemy aircraft-type UAVs.
Among the targets shot down were Shahed and Gerbera drones. Autonomous AI turrets are also effective against both drones and missiles.
Context.
Ukraine is actively developing modern air defence systems due to constant drone and missile attacks from Russia. The combination of different technologies helps to increase the security of facilities and reduce losses from air attacks.
