The Cabinet of Ministers has completely blocked assistance to IDPs if their income per person exceeds UAH 10,380. The new rules will affect many families, as well as schoolchildren in the rear regions. The changes are already in place, and it will become more difficult to receive payments.
Tight restrictions for IDPs: what is changing
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has introduced new rules for payments to internally displaced persons. From now on, assistance will be completely blocked if the income per family member exceeds 10 380 UAH. This applies to families who have housing in the government-controlled area, a deposit of more than UAH 100,000, a recently purchased car or other valuable assets.
Benefits for displaced children: additional conditions
A new requirement has been set for displaced schoolchildren in the rear regions: payments will only be made if they actually attend a local school offline. This decision should encourage children to study and integrate into local communities.
Who will continue to receive benefits
Without taking into account income, IDP assistance is extended to pensioners with payments of up to UAH 10,380, persons with disabilities of groups I-II, children with disabilities, orphans under 23, and foster parents and guardians. According to the Ministry of Social Policy, only about 1.1 million of the 4.6 million registered IDPs actually receive the living allowance.
