Budanov on the personal responsibility of fugitives

Kirill Budanov stressed that being a draft dodger means living in shame. According to him, after the war, everyone who avoided service will have to explain to their children and neighbours why they did not participate in the defence of the country.

Budanov stressed that society will face the question: who are you after the war? He noted that this would be a moral challenge for those who evaded mobilisation.

Contradictory attitudes to mobilisation

According to Kyrylo Budanov, on the one hand, Ukrainians are calling for a fight to victory, but on the other hand, many are avoiding mobilisation. He pointed out that society has a tendency to make heroes out of those who openly ignore the challenges of the CTC.

Budanov stressed that this position undermines the unity and morale of the nation. He called for a reflection on what values should be decisive for Ukrainian society in wartime.

The context of the public debate

Question. mobilisations and the treatment of evaders remains one of the most controversial issues in Ukrainian society. According to Budanov, this affects the motivation of the military and public support for the front.
