The prosecutor's office reported that the deputy director of the Environmental Safety Department of Ukrzaliznytsia was detained while receiving a bribe of $100,000. The official demanded the money from a representative of a granite mining company in Khmelnytsky region. In exchange for the money, he promised to resolve the issue of dismantling and writing off a railway track that was hindering the expansion of production.

During the search, cash and a handwritten receipt were seized from the official. The prosecutor's office emphasises that all evidence has been seized and documented. The official faces 8 to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
