Power outage schedules will be in effect for at least three more years - Kharchenko
Director of the Energy Research Centre Alexander Kharchenko said that Ukraine will have to live with schedules of power outages during peak periods for at least three more years.
The expert said this when commenting on the prospects for Ukraine's energy system in the coming years.
Details of the application
According to Kharchenko, power supply restrictions can be applied both in winter and summer months, during periods of maximum load on the power system.
The expert explained that the restoration of generation and energy infrastructure will take considerable time, so it will not be possible to completely abandon the schedules in a short time.
This is primarily about peak consumption periods, when the system is operating at its limit.
Context.
Ukraine's energy system has suffered significant damage as a result of Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure.
The authorities and energy companies continue to restore the system, but full stabilisation will require years of investment and reconstruction.
