Contract servicemen will be guaranteed to serve in the chosen position for at least 6 months - Ministry of Defence
In Ukraine, servicemen who sign a contract with the Armed Forces are now guaranteed to serve in their chosen position for at least six months. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
What is changing for contract workers
According to the new approaches to manning units, after signing a contract, a soldier receives a clear guarantee of staying in a certain position for a minimum period of time. The Ministry explains that this decision is aimed at:
Increasing the predictability of the service;
Improving professional training in a particular speciality;
strengthening the motivation of military personnel;
more efficient planning of the work of departments.
The Ministry of Defence emphasises that the stability of personnel decisions directly affects the army's combat capability and the quality of combat missions.
Why it matters
Defence experts note that frequent transfers between positions can reduce the effectiveness of units and complicate the training of specialists. The introduction of a guaranteed six-month term of service in a chosen position should ensure better specialisation of the military and a more stable management structure.
These steps are part of broader reforms of Ukraine's security and defence sector in the context of a full-scale war and the ongoing mobilisation of state resources.
