In Ivano-Frankivsk region, police uncovered an underground psychotropic drug production facility organised by three local residents aged 17 and 18. Almost 164 kg of amphetamine and other drugs were seized. Four suspects were detained.
Detention of the organisers
Law enforcement officers detained three local residents who organised a full cycle of drug production. Among them are boys aged 17 and 18. They manufactured, packaged and sold psychotropic drugs throughout Ukraine, including through postal services.
The police made a detention during the production of another batch of amphetamine. More than 160 kg of the finished product was seized on the spot.
Seized substances and equipment
They were seized during the searches:
- almost 164 kg of amphetamine;
- cannabis, MDMA, PVP, 4-MMS and other substances;
- equipment and chemicals;
- means of packaging;
- cash;
- phones, SIM cards and documentation.
The fourth person involved was also detained - a man who purchased large amounts of psychotropic drugs for further sale.
Suspicion of all participants
All four participants were served a notice of suspicion. The investigation is ongoing.
Context.
Police regularly record attempts to organise clandestine drug labs in Ukraine. Recently, the number of teenagers involved in drug trafficking has been increasing. The production and sale of psychotropic drugs is punishable by law.
