Drug lab with psychotropics worth over UAH 12 million exposed in Kharkiv region
Law enforcers liquidated an underground drug lab where psychotropic substances worth over UAH 12.8 million were manufactured. The operation was conducted by the National Police jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Bureau of Investigation.
The laboratory was set up in a remote house
According to the investigation, the organiser of the illegal production was a 45-year-old man who acted together with a 48-year-old accomplice. In a private house, they equipped a full-fledged laboratory and set up the production of mephedrone.
The law enforcement officers exposed the drug lab directly during its operation.
What was seized during the searches
During the investigation, the police seized them:
more than 7 kg of mephedrone;
about 3 litres of psychotropic substance in liquid form;
550 g of cannabis;
approximately 100 litres of precursors;
laboratory equipment for the manufacture of drugs.
The suspects face up to 12 years in prison
Two of the defendants were detained. The court imposed on them a preventive measure in the form of detention without bail.
If found guilty, the men face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
