Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets published the results of an inspection of the Uzhhorod TCC, where men were held in appalling conditions. Numerous human rights violations were recorded, including the detention of veterans and the lack of proper sanitary conditions.
Ombudsman Lubinets reveals shocking details of the inspection
During the inspection of the Uzhhorod TCC, Dmytro Lubinets recorded that the men had been there for weeks - in some cases, they had been there for 21, 24, 30 and even 50 days. The video shows a veteran showing his UBD ID, but even this status did not become a reason for his release.
Violation of rights and lack of basic conditions
Men's documents and phones were seized without proper documentation, depriving them of their right to defence. There are only 3 mugs and 8 metal plates for 40-60 people, so people are forced to take turns eating from the same dishes without being treated. There is also only one toilet and shower, no bed linen and obvious illnesses are ignored.
Medical care only after intervention
After the Ombudsman's intervention, an ambulance was called for a man with a blood pressure of 190 over 100, who had been asking for help for several days. The photo shows a man with a clear physical disability, which was ignored by the TCC staff.
