The essence of the case

According to the investigation, in January 2025, law enforcement officers exposed the official on illicit enrichment and declaration of false information.

Further investigation revealed that the offender may have legalised the proceeds of crime through the purchase of luxury real estate and premium cars. The assets were registered in the names of close relatives to conceal their origin.

Possible penalties

If found guilty, the official faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have recently stepped up investigations into the illicit enrichment of officials in the defence and security sector. Such cases are seen as part of a broader wartime anti-corruption campaign.
