SBU detains FSB agent who adjusted attacks on Odesa power facilities

The Security Service of Ukraine reported the detention of a woman suspected of collaborating with Russian special services and coordinating attacks on Odesa's energy infrastructure.

According to the investigation, the main task of the suspect was to transfer the coordinates of small transformer substations and high-voltage facilities that provide power to the regional centre.


Collecting information after shelling

Law enforcement officers found that the woman also walked around the perimeter of the power substations, trying to detect damage and find out the technical condition of the facilities after recent Russian strikes.

The data obtained, according to the investigation, could have been used to prepare repeated attacks on the region's power grid.


Possible penalties

The detainee is 48 years old. If proven guilty, she faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Investigative actions and procedural procedures are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of cooperation with the Russian side.
