Ex-judge of Tandyr reduces bail six times in case of fatal road traffic accident at checkpoint
Kyiv Court of Appeal reduces bail for former judge Alexey Tandir, who is accused of a fatal road traffic accident at a checkpoint.
The bail amount was reduced almost six times - from UAH 120 million to UAH 20 million, The prosecutor's office said.
Position of the defence
During the appeal, the lawyers asked:
release the accused from the pre-trial detention centre on personal recognizance;
or cancel the preventive measure completely.
The court partially upheld the complaint, agreeing only to reduce the amount of bail.
Circumstances of a fatal road traffic accident
According to the investigation, the 2023 an accident involving a car driven by the then judge occurred at one of the checkpoints.
As a result of the hit and run 22-year-old serviceman of the National Guard of Ukraine.
