Court arrests Ukrainian Armed Forces logistics commander in shelter case
To the Logistics Commander of the Air Force of Ukraine Andriy Ukrainets a custodial detention with the right to be released on bail in the amount of UAH 7 million was imposed.
The investigation suspects a group of defendants of organising a scheme to misappropriate budget funds during the construction of collapsible arch shelters at strategically important airfields.
Details of the case
According to law enforcement, UAH 1.4 billion was allocated for the project in May 2025.
However, the checks revealed that:
The structures did not meet safety requirements;
The shelters did not provide adequate protection for aviation;
the cost of the work performed was significantly overstated.
The investigation believes that this could have caused significant losses to the state budget.

The construction of protective shelters for aviation is one of the key areas of strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities in times of war.
