Verification of Starlink terminals through a «white list» is introduced in Ukraine»

Ukraine introduces mandatory terminal verification Starlink within the so-called «white list». This was announced by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov.

According to him, the government has adopted a resolution to regulate the use of satellite internet. All terminals that do not pass the verification procedure will be banned, will be disabled.

How the verification will take place

Separate mechanisms are provided for different categories of users:

  • For citizens - one visit to the nearest Administrative Services Centre. The procedure is free of charge, fast and without unnecessary bureaucracy.

  • For business - verification can be done online through the Diia portal«.

  • For the military - you do not need to visit the ASC. For Defence Forces of Ukraine a separate secure channel through the system is already in place DELTA.

Why you need it

As explained by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the introduction of the «white list» will allow:

  • prevent unauthorised use of terminals;

  • improve network security;

  • ensure stable operation of Starlink for critical infrastructure and defence needs.

Context.

Starlink satellite internet has been playing a key role in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war, providing communications for the military, medical personnel, energy sector and civilians in the face of damaged infrastructure.
