Syrsky: losses of the Russian army in 2025 exceeded the level of mobilisation
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky said that the full-scale war is not at a standstill, as the losses of the Russian army exceed the rate of its replenishment. He said this in an interview with Le Monde.
Details of the assessment
According to Syrsky, in 2025, Russia managed to mobilise and conscript about 406,000 people. At the same time, the total losses of Russian troops, including killed and wounded, during this period amounted to approximately 418,000 soldiers.
The Chief of Defence stressed that such dynamics indicate the depletion of the enemy's resources and refute the allegations of an alleged stalemate at the front.
Context.
Ukraine's military command has repeatedly stressed that Russia's strategy is based on massive recruitment. At the same time, Kyiv and its Western partners estimate Russia's losses as consistently high.
Syrsky's statement came amid ongoing hostilities and discussions in the West about further military support for Ukraine.
