As of 28 March, the 1494th day of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine is underway. Over the past day, 181 combat engagements took place, with the enemy actively using aircraft, kamikaze drones and artillery.
Scale of enemy attacks
According to the General Staff, Russian troops carried out 59 air strikes over the past day, using 228 guided bombs. There were also 8,269 attacks by kamikaze drones and 3,567 attacks on Ukrainian settlements and positions, 67 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
The airstrikes targeted settlements in the Dnipropetrovs'k and Zaporizhzhia regions, including Pokrovske, Levadne, Pidhavrylivka, Ivanivka, Tsvitkove, Novoselivka, Dolynka, Shyroke, Kopani, Verkhnia Tersa, Vozdvyzhivka, Lyubytske, Hirke, Gulyaypilske, Orikhove and Preobrazhenka.
Situation at the frontline
A total of 181 combat engagements were recorded over the day. Five combat engagements, one air strike, three aerial bombardments and 89 attacks (5 from multiple rocket launchers) took place in the North Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors.
In the South Slobozhansky direction the enemy stormed Ukrainian positions five times near Prylipka, Vovchansk, Zybinoye, Mala Vovcha and Okhrimivka. In the Kupiansk sector, the aggressor attacked eight times in the areas of Petropavlivka, Kurylivka, Hlushkivka, Novoplatonivka, Podil, Novoozynove and Pishchane.
On the Liman direction nine attacks were registered, including near Novosergiyivka, Stavky, Droysheve, Lyman and Serednye. In the Sloviansk sector, six attempts to advance near Platonivka, Rai Oleksandrivka and Riznykivka were stopped.
In the Kramatorsk sector the enemy tried to advance towards Markove and Chervone three times. In the Kostyantynivka sector, 35 attacks were made in the direction of Kostyantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Stepanivka, Novopavlivka, Pleshchyivka, Rusyn Yar, Yablunivka and Sofiyivka.
In the Pokrovske direction Ukrainian defenders stopped 36 assaults in the areas of Nikanorivka, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, Kotlynne, Udachne, Muravka, Novomykolaivka, Kucherovyi Yar, Bilytske, Novyi Shakhove, Novopidhorodne, Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivske direction the enemy attacked four times in the direction of Oleksandrohrad, Verbove and Kalynove. In the Huliaipil sector, 21 attacks took place in Varvarovka, Staroukrainka, Olenokostiantynivka, Zelene, Zaliznychne and near Myrne.
On the Orikhivskyi direction no active offensive actions by the enemy were recorded. One attack was repelled in the Prydniprovskyi sector near Antonivskyi bridge.
Actions of Ukrainian aviation
Over the past day, the Defence Forces' aviation struck three areas where occupants' personnel were concentrated. Ukrainian troops continue to systematically destroy the enemy and put up effective resistance in all areas of the frontline.
Context.
28 March marks the 1494th day of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine. No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions. Ukrainian defence forces continue to defend their positions and inflict losses on the enemy.
