Ukrainian Armed Forces shoot down 25 Russian missiles and 365 drones overnight

On the night of 24 March, Russian troops launched a combined attack on Ukraine's critical infrastructure. More than 400 air attack vehicles were spotted, the vast majority of which were shot down or suppressed. The largest number of targets were attack drones.

Massive combined attack

On the night of 24 March, Russian troops carried out combined air strike on critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. The attackers used attack drones, as well as air- and ground-launched missiles.

The Air Force's radio engineering troops recorded 426 airborne attack vehicles:

- 7 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles (Kursk region, Russia, TOT of Donetsk region);
- 18 X-101 cruise missiles (from the airspace over the Caspian Sea);
- 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles (Bryansk region, Russia);
- 4 X-59/69/31 guided missiles (Kursk region, Russia, TOT of Donetsk region);
- 392 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of attack UAVs from various directions, about 250 of them Shaheds.

Air defence performance

In total, according to preliminary data as of 09:00, air defence destroyed or suppressed 390 targets:

- 18 X-101 cruise missiles;
- 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
- 2 X-59/69 guided missiles;
- 365 enemy UAVs of various types.

The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

Six missiles and 27 attack UAVs hit 22 locations, and the wreckage of downed UAVs fell in 10 locations. Information about three enemy missiles is being clarified.

Context.

Russia regularly launches massive missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian territory in an attempt to damage critical infrastructure. Ukraine's air defence system is constantly improving and demonstrates high efficiency in repelling attacks. The authorities urge citizens to follow safety rules during air alerts.
