On the night of 29 March, the port of Ust-Luga was attacked, setting three large fuel tanks on fire. The berth and pumping equipment at Novatek's terminal were also damaged. The port's operations were suspended.
Fuel tanks damaged
Three tanks with fuel oil, light fuel and jet fuel were damaged during the attack on the port of Ust-Luga. According to competent sources, each tank had a capacity of 30,000 tonnes.
The impact caused all three tanks to catch fire. The fire engulfed a large area of the fuel terminal.
Damage to the terminal and shutdown of the port
In addition to the tanks, the berth of the Portenergo terminal and Novatek's pumping units were damaged. The damage to the infrastructure made it impossible for the port to continue operating.
According to sources, the operations of the Ust-Luga port have been completely suspended.

The port of Ust-Luga is one of the largest transport hubs in Russia, handling large volumes of oil products. Novatek uses this port to export its cargo.
Recently, fuel and energy infrastructure facilities in the region have been repeatedly targeted.
