ATES guerrillas destroy communication hub of Russian air defence unit in Moscow region

The guerrilla movement «ATESH» announced the destruction of a communication hub of a Russian air defence unit in the Moscow region.

According to the movement, a communication tower of the air defence unit of the 5th division of the anti-aircraft missile troops of the Russian Aerospace Forces was destroyed.

Details of the operation

The destroyed tower performed key control and coordination functions:

• provided secure radio relay communication between the command and combat units;

• was used to transmit operational data and commands;

• electronic intelligence and signal interception equipment was deployed at the facility.

ATES notes that the elimination of this node led to a disruption of the control system, the loss of some intelligence information and a decrease in the effectiveness of Russian air defence in the region.

Context.

The guerrilla movement «ATESH» regularly reports on sabotage operations in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and in Russia's rear regions. These actions are aimed at weakening the military logistics, command and control systems and intelligence of the occupation forces.

The weakening of air defence elements and communication systems in Russia's deep rear could affect the ability of Russian troops to respond to air threats and coordinate defence operations.
