Europe tightens security due to threat of terrorist attacks
The French authorities have decided to deploy additional security forces across the country. In particular, military personnel and internal security units are being sent to protect synagogues, religious institutions and important public facilities.
According to the French media, such measures are associated with an increased risk of possible attacks or provocations amid the war between Israel and Iran.
Increased threat level
European security services fear that the escalation in the Middle East could lead to the intensification of extremist groups in the EU. Particular attention is being paid to facilities that could become symbolic targets for attacks.
These include synagogues, diplomatic missions, transport hubs, and crowded places.
