At least 15,000 civilians have been killed since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, UN Deputy Secretary-General says Rosemary DiCarlo. Among the dead were 775 children.

According to the UN, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion at least 15,000 people were killed in Ukraine civilians. Among them are 775 children.
The number of wounded civilians exceeds 42,000. In particular, 2,588 children were wounded.

UN Under-Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo stressed that these figures are not final. She noted that the actual number of casualties is likely to be much higher due to difficulties in accessing some areas and verifying information.
Context.
The war in Ukraine has been going on since February 2022. The UN regularly updates data on civilian casualties, but the calculation is complicated by the fighting and limited access to the occupied territories.
