Emergency services in Israel have been ordered to prepare for war
Government agencies are considering a scenario of rapid escalation in the Middle East. The issue is the readiness of emergency services to respond to possible missile attacks, drone attacks and other consequences of a large-scale conflict.
At the same time, US officials assess diplomatic contacts with Iran as fruitless, which increases expectations of a military scenario.
Signs of US preparations for a military operation
According to Western sources, the United States has already concentrated a significant part of its military resources in the region:
About a third of the active US naval forces are deployed in the Middle East;
Hundreds of fighter jets, two aircraft carriers and more than 150 arms cargo flights have been deployed;
approximately 50 additional F-35, F-22 and F-16 fighters were deployed, while F-35, F-22, F/A-18 and F-15, along with refuelling and long-range radar detection aircraft, were already operating in the region;
There are about 33 ships at sea, including aircraft carriers, destroyers and submarines capable of carrying hundreds of Tomahawk cruise missiles.
Such a large-scale redeployment of forces indicates preparations for a potential large-scale operation.
The risk of a major war
Analysts suggest that a possible military confrontation between the US and Iran could become one of the largest and most technologically advanced campaigns of our time. In the event of hostilities, the conflict could quickly spread to the entire Middle East region and involve additional allies.
Context.
Tensions between Washington and Tehran are growing amid disputes over Iran's nuclear programme and the security situation in the region. Preliminary estimates by the US media pointed to a high probability of a large-scale military operation in the coming weeks.
