Ukrainian intelligence has reported that Russia has handed over the coordinates of 55 key Israeli energy facilities to Iran. This includes power plants, substations, and industrial units. Such cooperation has already led to a large-scale fire at a refinery in Haifa after an Iranian missile strike.
Russia and Iran: a new level of cooperation against Israel
According to Ukrainian intelligence, Moscow handed over Tehran received the coordinates of 55 important Israeli energy facilities. Russian experts classified the targets according to their level of importance - from key power plants, such as Orot Rabin, to regional substations and industrial hubs.
The vulnerability of Israel's energy system
Moscow has emphasised to Iran that Israel is an «energy island», as it cannot import electricity from its neighbours. Even limited damage to strategic facilities could lead to a national blackout and a collapse of the energy system.
Real consequences of cooperation
This cooperation has already had consequences: On 30 March, an Iranian missile hit an oil refinery in Haifa, causing a massive fire. Such strikes could exacerbate Israel's energy crisis and affect the situation in the region.
