Zelenskyy does not rule out running for election and warns of risks for air defence
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had not yet made a final decision on his participation in the upcoming presidential election and would be guided by the public opinion.
On possible participation in the elections
«I am not sure that I will run for president - I will see what Ukrainians want,» the head of state said.
Risks to Ukraine's air defence
Zelenskyy also warned of potential problems with the supply of missiles for air defence due to the escalation of the war in the Middle East.
According to him, such risks are «quite real», given the global competition for the relevant weapons.
Negotiation track
The President stressed that despite the strikes on Iran, the planned trilateral meeting with US representatives had not been cancelled or postponed.
Position on foreign troops
Commenting on Russia's statements, Zelenskyy stressed that Moscow should not determine which troops can be deployed on the territory of Ukraine.
«I don't understand why Moscow should decide which troops can be on our territory at all,» he said.
At the same time, the President called on Europe to take a tougher and more principled stance on this issue.
About Donbas
Zelenskyy also assured that Ukraine would not abandon its citizens in the temporarily occupied territories.
«I want to make it clear: I will never leave Donbas and the 200,000 Ukrainians who live there,» the Head of State stressed.
