Former SBU official released on bail of UAH 6.9 million

Ex-head of Zhytomyr SBU office granted bail in amount of UAH 6.9 million

According to the investigation, the former SBU official may be involved in schemes for embezzlement of funds, allocated for the construction of defensive fortifications for military airfields.

We are talking about more than $320 thousand, which, according to the investigation, were misappropriated during the implementation of the defence construction project.

The investigation is part of the anti-corruption proceedings concerning the use of budget funds allocated to Strengthening Ukraine's defence infrastructure.

У The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) reported that the suspect posted a bail of UAH 6.9 million.

Once bail has been posted, procedural restrictions may be applied to him, in particular:

• the obligation to appear when called by investigators

• prohibition to leave the designated place of residence without permission

• Other preventive measures ordered by the court
