Zelensky signs law on deferment for military
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law that provides for a one-year deferral from mobilisation For military personnel who served under the programme «Contract 18-24».
This was reported in the Office of the President of Ukraine.
What the new law provides for
The document guarantees that upon completion of service under this programme, servicemen will receive 12 months deferral from mobilisation.
This means that within a year of their release, they cannot be re-enlisted in the army.
The purpose of the solution
The authorities explain that the law is aimed at:
support for the military after service
Possibility of adaptation to civilian life
Encouraging voluntary contracting for young people

Programme. «Contract 18-24» allows young citizens to Ukraine perform military service on a contractual basis between the ages of 18 and 24.
The new law introduces additional social guarantees for participants in this programme.
