On 23 March, the following took place at the frontline 152 combat clash. Russian troops carried out more than 8,000 attacks, including the massive use of kamikaze drones and guided aerial bombs. Ukrainian defence forces repelled the attacks and inflicted losses on the enemy.
Scale of attacks and shelling
Since the beginning of the day on 23 March, 152 combat engagements were registered in various sectors of the frontline. The enemy carried out 51 air strikes, using 160 guided aerial bombs.
Russian troops used 5,567 kamikaze drones and fired 2,708 times at settlements and positions of Ukrainian troops.
The situation on the routes
On North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions 13 assaults were repelled, 94 attacks were registered, one of which involved the use of multiple launch rocket systems. In the South Slobozhansky sector, the enemy attacked six times near Vovchansk, Vovchansky Khutor, Staritsa and Okhrimivka.
In the Kupyansk direction the enemy attacked six times near Petropavlivka, Borivska Andriivka, Novoplatonivka and Bohuslavka. In the Liman sector, three attacks were registered near Dibrova and Droysheve.
In the Slavic direction the enemy attempted to advance seven times in the areas of Yampol, Rai Oleksandrivka, Platonivka and Riznikivka. In the Kostyantynivka sector, the occupants carried out 16 attacks near Kostyantynivka, Pleshchiyivka, Illinivka, Kleban-Byk, Sofiyivka, Ivanopillia and towards Novopavlivka.
In the Pokrovske direction 27 assaults were repelled near Toretske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Hryshyne, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Molodetske and in the direction of Novooleksandrivka and Svitloe. According to preliminary data, 44 occupants were killed, 22 were wounded, three vehicles and five special vehicles were destroyed, six vehicles were damaged, and 147 UAVs of various types were destroyed or suppressed.
In the Oleksandrivske direction the enemy tried to improve their positions 10 times, attacking near Oleksandrohrad, Stepove, Novohryhorivka, Krasnohirske and Zlahoda. The areas of Oleksiivka, Ivanivka, Pokrovske and Oleksandrivka were hit by air strikes.
On the Gulyaypil direction 16 attacks took place in the areas of Olenokostiantynivka, Zaliznychne, Gulaypol, Varvarovka, Zelene, Svyatopetrivka and Myrne. The enemy conducted air strikes on Verkhnya Tersa, Vozdvyzhivska, Babashy, Danylivka, Zalivne, Gulyaypolske and Dolynka.
On the Orikhivskyi direction no active offensive actions were recorded, but the enemy conducted an air strike near Orikhiv. In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Ukrainian forces repelled one attack.
There were no significant changes in the situation in other areas.
Context.
Russian troops continue to intensively use aviation, artillery and kamikaze drones along the entire frontline. Ukrainian defence forces are holding their ground and inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy.
The operational situation remains tense, with fighting continuing in many areas. The data is updated according to the official reports of the General Staff.
