The Ukrainian military used An-28 aircraft to launch specialised interceptor drones P1-SUN. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The goal is to more effectively detect and shoot down enemy drones, including Iranian Shahids and Russian reconnaissance drones. Launching from the air reduces the response time to targets.
Benefits of the new approach
The use of interceptor drones from aircraft makes it possible to cover large areas quickly and respond to threats. This is especially important during massive attacks by kamikaze drones.
According to the military, this method increases the likelihood of successful interception of targets compared to launching from the ground. Testing of the system continues on several frontlines.

The General Staff notes that the new tactics have already shown the first positive results. The military plans to expand use of drones-interceptors from the An-28 in other parts of the airspace.
