Another 500 IDP families to receive preferential mortgages

More than 500 families of internally displaced persons will be able to purchase housing on credit on favourable terms. On 14 May, a new online selection process for participants in the Housing for IDPs programme, funded by the Council of Europe Development Bank, will start.

More than 500 IDP families to get a chance to own their own housing

Ukraine is launching another phase of preferential mortgage lending for internally displaced persons. According to the Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine, Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, The government received a second tranche of funding of €25 million from the Council of Europe Development Bank. The new round of the programme will allow more than 500 more IDP families to receive housing on credit on favourable terms.

Conditions of participation and programme features

Loans under the Housing for IDPs programme are available for up to 30 years at 3% per annum. The maximum housing area for a family of one or two people is 52.5 sq m, with 21 sq m added for each additional family member.

The housing must be no older than 50 years or reconstructed no more than 35 years ago. Only those who IDPS, who do not have housing in the government-controlled territory of Ukraine, have not previously received state housing compensation or preferential loans and can prove their solvency.

All applicants can check the status of their applications in advance on the website of the State Fund for Youth Housing. The list of winners will be announced during the live broadcast of the selection, as well as on the official website of the State Agency for Youth Housing and on the resources of regional offices.

The new phase will allow hundreds more families to take a step towards a stable future in Ukraine.
