In Kyiv, from 10 September 2026 The duration of the curfew will be reduced. The new arrangements will apply every day from 01:00 to 05:00, said the capital’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko. At present, the curfew begins at midnight and ends at 05:00. Meanwhile, the city’s public transport will operate one hour longer, … so that Kyiv residents have more time to get home. Transport operators are to publish the exact timetables for the last metro and surface transport services.

What will change from 10 September
The main change is that the start of the curfew is being brought forward from 00:00 to 01:00. The end time remains unchanged — 05:00.
Consequently, the night-time restrictions will be in force for four hours instead of five.
The city authorities also plan to adjust public transport services in line with the new arrangements. The underground and surface transport services will be able to carry passengers for about an hour longer; however, it is advisable to check the specific changes for individual routes once the updated timetables have been published.
Restaurants and shopping centres will not remain open any longer
According to Nickname, a reduction in the curfew this time will not mean that restaurants, shopping centres and other establishments will automatically remain open.
In other words, for city residents, the main practical change will be an extra hour for getting around the city and for public transport services.
Previously, when the curfew was shortened in 2023, Kyiv simultaneously extended the opening hours of public transport, shops, shopping centres and restaurants. The current decision takes a different approach.

More 31 August The Kyiv Defence Council has approached the government with proposals to amend the capital’s security protocols, in particular to relax curfew.
On 3 September, the government recommended that the Kyiv authorities set its duration from 01:00 to 05:00. The Cabinet of Ministers has also called for the capital’s underground service to be run more efficiently and, where necessary, for the number of overground transport services to be increased.
At the same time, the curfew itself is not cancelled. Whilst it remains in force, the restrictions on being in public places and moving around the city imposed under martial law will continue to apply, except in cases provided for by the regulations.
